He has a solid routine of keeping fit through rigorous exercise and healthy eating.

As he sees it, a healthy diet could mean different things to different people, and there are many schools of thought about what foods are healthy and what aren’t. But there are some common truths about the basics. A healthy diet, as Dr. David Soria knows, starts by implementing more fresh fruits and vegetables to your eating routine and cutting back on the bad stuff, like processed foods that are high in saturated fats, sodium and unnatural additives. Some people advocate organic or all-natural diets that focus on foods that pure and free of any unnatural ingredients.

A good starting point would be for finding a balance of healthier foods in your diet. It’s helpful to eat foods from each of the five major food groups: grains, protein, fruits and vegetables, and dairy. It’s also important only to eat when you are hungry, and not over to eat. Minding your portions is one other huge aspect of healthy eating that many tend to forget. By being conscious of the nutritional content of one’s food as well as the amount of food they are consuming, they will be rewarded with better health.

Typically, that’s hard to do. So the best way: get on the plane. Set your watch to the time of which it is in the time zone of your destination. “In my seventy-two hours working with Air Force Aeromedical teams, I saw things that will change my practice and life forever,” Dr David Soria said afterward. “These young men and women have redefined commitment when it comes to their patients, many times being up for hours or days at a time, taking care of our injured warriors.”

Dr David Soria described airlifting three critically wounded Marines, one of them hit by mortar fire, the other two wounded by Improvised Explosive Devices. “Through the flight , the CCAT doctor, medic, and respiratory therapist tend to their critical needs constantly, standing bedside the entire flight, tirelessly ensuring each patient’s safety,” Dr David Soria reported.

These medical personnel, Dr David Soria told viewers back home in Florida, used some of the newest medical products available, which helped to save many of the soldiers’ lives. He described a product called QuikClot that stopped excessive bleeding, giving rescuers enough time to get wounded soldiers to the hospital for definitive care.
