Dr David Soria: Keeping Physically Fit

Dr David Soria is a medical professional leading an extremely busy life. He is the Medical Director and Chairman of an Emergency Medicine department in a major hospital, a health and medicine correspondent for two Southern Florida TV stations, the Medical Director of Global Affairs for the National Basketball Association, and the President and Managing Partner of an emergency medical practice management company.

Dr David Soria might not be able to keep up with all of these responsibilities if he did not take good care of himself. But he does: he keeps physically fit with regular workouts that leave him feeling better and give him plenty of energy. As an experienced medical professional, Dr David Soria knows that plenty of exercise and physical activity are the keys to good health, and can even extend his life expectancy.

Getting plenty of regular exercise, Dr David Soria says, goes a long way to preventing excess weight gain by burning a lot of calories. He says that it isn’t necessary to set aside big chunks of time for working out in order to stay trim. He says a simple way of being active include cutting corners, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

Another great benefit of regular exercise is that is can reduce the risk of certain conditions and diseases, like high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes. Exercise can also give you an emotional lift, he says, and help you blow off pressure after a particularly stressful day.

Regular exercise, Dr David Soria says, can also leave you with more energy and promote better sleep, and plenty of sack time is always beneficial to good health. The bottom line, he says, is that plenty of exercise and physical activity is an excellent way to feel better.
